About Elizabeth

I was introduced to Pilates many year ago. I very quickly realised the benefits from the method and from that day on I was hooked! After having had my daughter I went through a time of suffering from extreme lower back pain.  Having had an emergency C Section I had needed to take some time out from exercise. As soon as I was able to I began practising Pilates again and within a very short time my back pain subsided!  Throughout my learning journey with Pilates I have found that the most important factor is to find an excellent teacher who not only has sound knowledge of the method but also of the human body too.

As my daughter started school I decided it was time to have change of direction in my life.  I left the world of Advertising & Media behind to start my new venture and train to be a Pilates Teacher. I have now been teaching Pilates for over 7 years.

I am a Body Control Pilates L3 Matwork and  Reformer teacher

This course is approved as meeting the requirements of the UK national standard for Pilates.  This qualification sits at Level 3 in the National Qualifications Framework (Advanced Instructor) and is also recognised by REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals)

I teach small local group matwork classes and also run a Pilates studio from my home in Ruislip, where I teach my private 1-1 clients.

As a Body Control Pilates teacher I adhere to their code of practice and only permit a maximum of 12 clients per class.  This offers my clients  a far more hands on and personal approach.

I believe in continued personal development which keeps me up to date with the Pilates method; as well as all things to do with the world of Personal Fitness.  I have a love and fascination of Active Ageing - Age, after -all, is just a number!

About Pilates

Pilates targets the deep postural muscles, building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment. It helps to reshape your body, which will become longer, leaner and more toned. It will also improve your posture, achieving the perfect balance between strength and flexibility, and is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension.

Perfect for athletes looking to enhance their performance and minimise the risk of injury. Pilates is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, even the first time exercisers. It’s slow, controlled approach means that it gives much longer-term results. It is especially recommended by medical experts for those with back problems.
